Foresight in Artificial Intelligence
From ResearchID.org
IBM's Deep Blue computer had foresight to see many levels deep into chess games so that it was able to beat the world's best chess player, but is an idiot savant when it comes to its ability to frame (define) new problems that are not related to the game of chess. In other words, it is not capable of deciding by its own volition to learn space navigation like NASA's Deep Space 1.
