According to the article, on February 25, 2006, Eugenie Scott asked the audience:

"It’s unknowns all the way down with intelligent design. We have an unknown designer designing bacteria for unknown reasons in a way that’s unknown. Why was it created this way and not another way?"

How does Natural Selection square against these demands of knowledge about motivation and contingency?
