Law of Accumulating Criteria

An inference to design becomes stronger as more design criteria are satisfied by a phenomenon.

Le Chatelier's Principle

A principle of chemistry which states that "a system at equilibrium, when subjected to a disturbance, responds in a way that tends to minimize the effect of the disturbance."

Logoi

Plural form of the the Greek word logos (λόγος), often translated into English as "word." Other possible translations include thought, speech, reason, principle, standard, or logic.

Lurking Variable

A statistical variable that has an important effect on either the response variable(s) or predictor variable(s), or both, but is excluded from the analysis.
