Researching with multiple windows
  • Often when researching information on the net, we have to open the wikipage being edited and the webpage(s) we're gleaning information from. For this type of activity, I recommend Firefox if you don't already use it. Using Firefox's tabbed browsing allows you to see all the titles of all open pages and easily go back and forth between webpages, without cluttering your windows toolbar.
RSS

You can put your favorite feed on your personal page by putting the feed URL address between feed tags (<rss></rss>). [Example]

Piped links

While editing, you can copy-and-paste the pipe symbol "|" from between the "Cancel" and "Editing help" links underneath the editing window, to the right of the "Save page" and "Show changes" buttons.

Creating new pages through interconnection

A wiki grows in usefulness by the presence of links between pages. Incidentally, pages must be created with links. So the best option in terms of developing the site is to place the link to the new page where it will be linked to in the end. By clicking through to the new page from a link created where it would otherwise be anyways, you get a new page and you help build the wiki.  :)
