Our first research initiative is INFO2008, to catalog at least two research applications for major and minor disciplines on our fields page by 2008.

ResearchID.org Hierarchy

Through our site hierarchy, ResearchID.org hopes to grow, produce cutting-edge research, and be well maintained. Wiki content on the ResearchID.org website is managed through a chain of volunteers fulfilling different roles:

Founder

The individual who started ResearchID.org: Joseph "Joey" C. Campana.

Design Team

Group that manages the overall 'nuts and bolts' and 'look and feel' of ResearchID.org. The Design Team is a co-op that includes the founder of ResearchID.org, as well as experienced individuals or groups invited by the founders to take part. Members of the Design Team have sysop and Beauracrat user privileges, and also have the option of bot.

Administrators

Assists the design team by helping maintain the structure and guidelines of ResearchID.org. Developing content standards is one of the important jobs of administrators. Administrators are selected from among those who have made significant contributions to ResearchID.org. They are invited by the Design Team to be Administrators, and are given sysop user privileges.

Editors

Group that reviews and edits pages. Identifies parts of the site that need more content and polishes them by enhancing grammar, vocabulary, or structure. Before becoming an Editor, on must make significant contributions to ResearchID.org and are given sysop user privileges. Visit our the webmaster's user page and post a message if you would like to be an Editor.

Vigilantes

Group that monitors the site for violations of wiki etiquette. Vigilantes are users who volunteer to assist ResearchID.org by intercepting spamming, hammering, and trashing, etc. Vigilantes are given sysop user privileges to revert pages to older versions. Visit the webmaster's user page and post a message if you would like to be a Vigilante.

Evaluators

Group that identifies articles and pages that need more content or editing. Anyone can be an Evaluator: just click the create account/login link in the upper right-hand corner of the site, register (quick and easy), and begin reviewing pages and categories.

Contributors

Group that generates content for the database. Anyone can be a Contributor: just start editing pages (register by clicking on the create account/login at the upper right corner of the screen.) Then click the 'edit' button at the top of a page that needs editing.
