Talk:Syntropy

Relation to ID
Nitai, I think this article has a place at ResearchID.org. Could you add a section explaining how syntropy relates to intelligent design research? -- JosephCCampana 10:29, 27 June 2006 (CDT)
More to it
Ok, I can try.
I wrote to the webmaster of this site and his email is not valid. So, I was thinking to direct the same question to you or anybody here. Here is the letter I wrote.
I am wondering are ID-ers mostly Christians or at least sympathizers of Christianity? And then, also other religions are speaking about the designer. Is it acceptable for this website to give an account e.g. from the Vedic scriptures about the activity of the designer or references that supports the idea of the existence of designer? How much are you allowing quotations from Bible and other scriptures?
Thanks in advance for your reply.
Nitai
- Nitai, thank you for your reply and your email. I am the webmaster, so you've reached the person you wanted to contact. Thank you for alerting me to the email problem, I am attempting to resolve it.
- Yes, it seems that most members of the ID community are Christians or are Christian sympathizers.
- Yes, other religions are talking about intelligent design, including adherents of Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Neo-Platonism, agnosticism and atheism, and Raeliens.
- To address your question about holy books, please refer to this section and the one below it. ID is inferred from knowledge about nature and the empirically observable universe. That being the case, quotations from holy books are not appropriate. However, if there is a concept presented in a holy book that would further an investigation of nature, the concept could be cast in terms that allow for scientific utility. For example, almost all early "scientists" (including Kepler, Newton, Galileo, Whewell and others) were seeking to explain the secondary causes in nature that God created/employed such that the universe is the way it is, and how those secondary causes continue to interact.
- I hope this helps clarify the situation. Please leave me a message here or email me at jccampana[at]gmail[dot]com if you have more questions. -- JosephCCampana 12:38, 27 June 2006 (CDT)
